The project aims to establish a sustainable, self-reliant medical equipment management framework at Tan Chau General Hospital, enabling it to deliver improved healthcare services to residents of An Giang and neighboring regions. Funded by the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) of the Export-Import Bank of Korea, the project focuses on sustainable maintenance and management of Korean-manufactured medical equipment.

KonKuk University Hospital will provide its expertise in biomedical engineering, focusing on key consulting tasks such as establishing a structured preventive maintenance system, developing guidelines for equipment use and disposal, supporting the hospital’s biomedical engineering team, and implementing a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). The project also includes training programs for both local and Korean professionals to ensure long-term operational sustainability.
“This project demonstrates international recognition of KonKuk University Hospital’s expertise in medical equipment management,” said Ki Tae Kim, head of the hospital’s biomedical engineering team. “We also plan collaborate with other medical institutions in Vietnam to further improve healthcare quality.”
Through this initiative, KonKuk University Hospital seeks to enhance its international reputation and expand its role in Official Development Assistance (ODA) consulting and global training programs, contributing to healthcare development in low- and middle-income countries.
