[Hinews] Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital, led by Director Young-Wook Ryu, and Daegu Dongsan Hospital, led by Director Woo-Jin Jeong, have earned top ratings in the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service’s sixth pneumonia care evaluation. The hospitals scored 99.8 and 95.6 points, respectively, securing the highest grade of “1” in the assessment.

The evaluation, conducted from October 2023 to March 2024, focused on adult inpatients (aged 18 and older) with pneumonia. It assessed five key indicators—oxygen saturation testing, severity assessment tool usage, sputum culture testing, antibiotic administration within eight hours, and blood culture testing—alongside six monitoring indicators.

Both hospitals achieved near-perfect scores across most metrics, far surpassing the national average of 82.9 points.
Dr. Chi-Heum Cho, president of Dongsan Medical Center, emphasized the importance of timely intervention. “Pneumonia requires prompt diagnosis and treatment,” he said. “We are committed to delivering patient-centered care and maintaining trust as a leading medical institution.”

Beyond pneumonia, Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital and Daegu Dongsan Hospital have consistently earned top ratings in evaluations for other respiratory conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and tuberculosis, demonstrating their strong expertise in respiratory care.
